The Aldi's shit is actually called Preferred Selection. I've had both this and the Lindt in the picture and the Aldi's tastes a million times better despite being the same cocoa percentage.

Where can I buy one of those giant industrial bricks of chocolate that they use in food manufacturing? I don't care if I sounds like a fat middle aged woman I just need my fucking chocolate fix and figure buying in bulk is cheaper.

Wrong, it is healthy because it contains epicatechines.

It's marginally beneficial to eat exactly one square a day of 70% or darker. More is detrimental due to the cocoa butter.

You can skip the worthless oil and blend cocoa with fruit.

It does cause acne in some. An industry-funded study proved otherwise by feeding the control group bars of shortening and sugar.

but it constipated me very badly and I got appendicitis 1 week after eating it every day. I'm sure it plugged up the appendiceal orifice in my colon, so it is potentially dangerous

I described the mechanism in my post
>was in Vietnam on a tour of SEA
>had just started keto diet
>looking for sources of high fat
>discover Lindt Excellence, started with 99% - inedible
>highest % that tasted great was 90%
>Made me sweat squeezing out solid boulders of petrified shit
>woke up in my hotel one morning with abdominal distention and pain that didnt resolve
>googling "best hospital in Ho Chi Minh City" while doubled over in pain
>read good reviews for FV hospital (Franco Vietnamese)
>grab a cab over there
>CT scan shows acute appendicitis
>In the OR within a few hours
I figure it was a fecolith that plugged up the entrance to the appendix. The timing was so close to the initiation of the diet and the drastic change in bowel habits that it's hard not to think it was related

>IWhat's the best snacking dark chocolate that you can buy in bulk?
I find Lindt in the grocery is not economical, but okay for baking purposes, like a flourless torte or molten cake recipe.

Honestly, when I'm prepping my luggage for some nice carry-on chocolate, I like the firmer dark chocolate route, but, I used to hit up Whole Foods and look for some new stuff small batch kind of bars from whatever up and coming company, a dark chocolate w/hazelnuts or dried cherries or orange zest or coffee beans. There will often be a brand on sale, such that you get 3 levels of intensity to try.

Walgreens, believe it or not, has a store brand called DeLish on par with most of that, and will do in a pinch. They have one flavor with crushed corn flakes...really good, and I believe a gingery one with chewy bits. Anyway, if you want to save money, they're great, and they carry at least 10 world brands of bars, from Godiva to whatever little batch bars exist at Whole Foods, seriously.

thanks. assuredly there was some complicating factor, likely related to you being in Vietnam or SEA. I mean it's remotely possible that this alone caused it but that would be incredibly rare. I don't know enough about keto to rule on this so I'll take your word. DESU I was in a similar situation but without an intentional keto diet, and I've never experienced anything like that, thankfully. Hope you're better and that those profiteers at FV didn't rip you off too much
