How does food taste like to a non-smoker(tobacco only)? Would food suddenly taste magical once I quit smoking? Would chocolate tastes better?

>> No.13310146

>>13310125
How is anyone supposed to answer that? Do you think other people have that magical ability to taste like they've never smoked before instantaneously?

>> No.13310290

I think op is asking people who’ve quit smoking if their sense of taste changed/got better after quitting.

its a very slow process, and hard to notice. you don't just wake up one day and can taste again, you just slowly start to taste a little more as your taste buds recover in number and sensitivity
took about 1.5 years before i actually noticed i could taste a lot that i used to regard as bland and flavorless

honestly I didn't notice any difference after I quit. though I was only a smoker for 4 years, and never did more than half a pack per day.

I quit smoking. My sense of taste didn't change. Tobacco tastes terrible now though. You most definitely go noseblind to the smell of tobacco smoke. I also quit eating sugar. Whoa, big difference in sense of taste. Sugar KILLS your tastebuds.

Yes, food starts tasting aweseomley awesome within a few days. The effects wear off quickly, but every once in a while you'll still get hits of how good things taste and what you missed before.
Worse yet, nicotine is an appetite suppresant, and you'll likely blow up to the size of a house.
Women do especially, they ALL get fat when they quit, fat and disgusting, all the other women make jokes about them, and the men use their fat, sloppy, cottage-cheesy asses to insult each other like
>Haha Anon, your girlfriend is ExSmoker, you like fatties hahahahaahahahah
see like that.
But if you're a man you should be able to control this.

Haha no one likes a fat woman, just keep smoking honey or you'll be gross. We ARE laughing at you!

Little kids in their 20s like you aren't able to have a Big Boy's opinion about this matter, but about the noseblind thing you are right.

used to spack a pack of reds a day, the quit cold turkey
i can say that i surely "tasted" more after roughly a week, but it's not that big of a difference
that said, i suggest you to quit, best decision of my life so far

>> No.13312007

if it has any effect it's probably extremely subtle, I quit smoking and didn't notice anything but then again I also started eating healthier too, as part of an overall greater consciousness about my health.

maybe you won't notice any drastic difference in a specific food, but it might make you not crave extreme things like candy etc. which provide harsh tastes. I suspect that that's part of why I was able to change my diet, I liked healthy food more when I quit smoking because I didn't have a burned out tongue that demanded greasy meats and sugars all the time.

I've quit smoking before and from what I understand you just taste salt more. It doesn't make food really taste any better. But look think about it you can stop using so much salt in your cooking.

I quit smoking a few years ago. Didn’t really notice a change in sense of taste, but everything smells much stronger now.

Qutting smoking from a pack a day to nothing was the best thing I ever did. To quit I used a vape pen for 2 weeks to ween myself of cigarettes, and then went cold turkey. After 4 weeks total, quitting is easy.

Everything about my life is better once I quit smoking cigs. Seriously, do it.
