Prep:
1/4 cup mayo 1tbsp hot sauce and relish/chopped pickles to taste for sauce
Chicken breasts or thighs flattened and salted
Large bowl: 1/2 cup flour, 2tsp garlic powder, 1tsp salt, 2tbsp cayenne, mixed
Medium bowl: 1 egg, 1/4 cup hot sauce, whisked
Spread panko to cover a large plate

-Heat skillet on medium
-Fully coat chicken with flour mixture, then egg, then panko. Do this for 2-4 pieces of chicken
-Pour oil to cover bottom of skillet and wait for it to shimmer
-Cook chicken, about 3 minutes on each side if flattened properly
-Serve on any bread with sauce and lettuce

That will taste 5000x times better than a McChicken and takes about 10-20 minutes for four that you can reheat later. It takes at least 5 minutes to detour to a mcdonalds and wait in the drivethru, possibly a lot more.

I made my post assuming everyone here is an adult who has to go to the grocery store anyways for various household/food items. If you're incapable of planning at least one week ahead maybe you should be eating pig feed.
Nothing in that recipe spoils quickly except for the bread, so you can buy in bulk, and it certainly, absolutely does not cost $20 for all the ingredients. The meat will be $1-2 per sandwich and everything else will likely add up to about $1 per sandwich. Adding to the buying in bulk for convenience thing all of the ingredients are extremely common and I can't imagine anyone who cooks at all not having them at home in the first place except for maybe the pickles, but those are obviously unnecessary.

My recipe wasn't an imitation lol it's a much better chicken sandwich. It's got a crispy fried in olive oil breading coating and lots of spice and some garlic. Same idea but tastes a lot better. If someone offered you a nice restaurant grade chicken sandwich or a single McChicken would you not take the restaurant one? To me that's worth a miniscule extra amount of effort considering that's 4 drivethrus. My point is just that it's nowhere near "about the same results."
