Do you eat Foie Gras when it's Christmas time ? No, I don't like the taste but everyone else loves it

>> No.13258379

No, I'm vegan.

>> No.13258382

Yes, I’m keto.

>> No.13258386

No, I don't like it either unless it's whole and I cook it myself. I can't stand it when it's made into mousse or similar stuff.

>> No.13258437

Maybe. I'm CIA

fuck yeah I do, glownigger....love that shit; I buy the foie gras medallions that are IQF and sealed so no freezer burn, then sear ala minute, serve with agradolce or blackberry jam

Actual seared foie gras is one of my favorite foods but the mousses and terrines and shit I just absolutely hate.

Its not really a seasonal christmas dish in the UK, and isn't eaten widely.

I quite like it, less so pate de foie gras, but its production is a bit too cruel and I don't tend to order it.

And christmas isn't during winter?

They found out the liver was extra tasty at the autumn, because they eat so much before winter their liver get's really fat. Modern production just emulate their natural behaviour of binge-eating.

This. The still images you see are misleading. They're often scrambling and butting into eachother for the next chance at the feed hose.

You can eat meat and still not be a fan of force-feeding. Yeah, I've seen the same Anthony Bourdain video everyone else has where he "proves" geese love having food pumped into their stomach. It would be really nice if they actually did just love it and didn't suffer from it, but that's bullshit wishful thinking. There's damage you can identify to the animal from that process. It doesn't just go down nice and easy, and some of them end up dying from the process. You also have the more obvious point that if eating that same amount at that same frequency were really something they loved you wouldn't need to be forcing it down their throats with a feeding tube to begin with.

>> No.13259698

>>13258356
No, because my family doesn't do organ meat. My sister will do a couple things after I fed her chicken hearts on skewers, but there seems no purpose to introduce things they're not gonna touch.

of course, it's the best thing, but that is foie gras au torchon

It's like when obese people eat a lot of food. They're getting a hit of pleasure, but are living an extremely painful existence in return.

Being outlawed in NYC affects @ 1% of the population, since 99% wouldn't even know what it was, let alone be willing to eat it. France otoh, not so much.

>> No.13261163

Yes, i eat it every christmas (UK here)
