it's more like a slice of cheese sauce than actual cheese, which means it's ok on a hot sandwich. but not really a replacement for regular cheese.

Even Kraft brand "American cheese" is still mostly cheese if you look at the list of ingredients. There are plenty of other frankenfoods that people ingest on a daily basis that are farther from the real thing than this is. People shit on it for not being real cheese but it's still pretty real and it works perfectly fine in the context of a sandwich.
