So I've finally been convinced by people at work, I'm gonna get one of these chicken sandwiches when I leave here today. I've never actually eaten at Popeyes before though, should I get some specific sides or an extra sandwich or what? Guy here at work swears by the mashed potatoes, apparently.

None of these general chicken chains have anything actually spicy. Zaxby's is the only chicken chain with a spicy sauce that is really tasty, compared to other wing-focused chains that taste like shit. They have sandwiches on garlic bread and taste good but get soggy really quickly. I just can't win.

Literally came here just to see if anyone is talking about this stupid sandwich and it's the first thread I see. Keep hearing about this stupid sandwich and I never even leave the house. It's on the radio, saw on the news that some dude got stabbed to death over one, howard stern was talking about it and just now my neighbor came by and just left us one. I'm eating it right now.

I will agree with your 7/10 if it includes non fast-food chicken sandwiches, and it is the highest of the fast food sammiches. I did an objective test of 4 fast food chicken sandwiches last week, between Burger King, Wendy's, Chik-Fil-A, and Popeye's.

Unironically, BK was a distant 4th, Wendy's and Chik-Fil-A were tied, though I'd lean more towards Wendy's, and Popeye's was far and away the best of them. I can go into details of how those ranks were decided if someone wants to be a contrarian faggot and accuse me of shilling or being a nigger or somesuch.

BK's sandwich was a sad affair with an overly breaded, tiny square of chicken within a breading that was intended for a square clearly twice as large, and was further desecrated by overdue tasting lettuce and a sickening mayo pat. Disgusting, and they even charge $1 more than any of the other three for this depressing sandwich.

Wendy's has a fairly meaty, fresh-tasting lean (for deep fried lol) chicken breast with light breading and good seasoning, making it taste like a good standard for a fast food sandwich. There's also a number of options for chicken sandwich, but I went with the standard for comparison. Wendy's is generally a go-to with the options and the overall quality.

Chik-Fil-A is more or less tied with Wendy's, having about the same general flavor, proportion of breading, seasoning, meat, but less available options and the caveat of having to wait in a line that overflows into the street. For fairness sake, I'll give both W and CFA 2nd place, with a slight bias towards W.

Popeye's takes 1st far and away by having the thickest piece of fucking chicken to be slapped on a bun, and though the breading is a bit heavier than the others, it's Popeye's seasoned chicken so what do you expect? It still doesn't dwarf all the meat on the sandwich, the sauce they put on is lightly applied so it just gives a little flavor without overpowering the sandwich, and the pickles are "fresh" (again fast food), barely even turned from lightly-soaked cucumbers in appearance and flavor. The breast, never pressed, is huge, and though the sandwich does have higher fat content than the others, it contributes to why it tastes so damn good. The price point is also right between Wendy's and Chik-Fil-A's, with CFA beating its price out by 6 cents.

Now argue at your leisure. Popeye's has objectively the best sandwich, and your only argument should be that a CFA or Wendy's is closer to you than a Popeye's.
