Nice patty of 80pct beef, seared to about medium. Melted cheddar. Little ketchup, mayo, mustard, a few claussen pickle slices. On a toasted egg bun that is bigger than the patty so the goddamned thing doesn't fall apart when I eat it. Seriously. How the fuck do you eat pic related without the whole thing falling apart? Homemade bun no seeds
Grind my own patty out of a mixture of chuck roast and top round
Grill to medium rare/medium.
Sliced tillamook cheddar at the end to melt on it
Lightly toast the bun on the grill at the same time
Usually no condiments but maybe a small amount of yellow mustard if I had to

Depending on my mood either caramelized onions which would go under the cheese while the burger is still on the grill or just pickles on top of the bottom bun but under the patty.

I usually don't bother with autists screaming about how well done meat should be, but I really don't recommend a rare burger. It's different with other cuts of meat. Steaks have muscle fibers, where as ground beef largely foregoes that. It ends up too much like meat paste if too rare.

The general idea is to make the patties to the shape of the bread since it normally has an oblong shape. I also keep things sliced thin and add more slices instead of just having large slices. It's really satisfying to eat after the putting in the effort to make it.
