It just depends on the Subway you go to. The quality can vary immensely. I had to cycle through 3 Subways within a 5 mile radius before finding a good one. The first one barely cut my foot long bread in half and then proceeded to pry it open until it was completely fucked. The second one was filthy with some ingredients mixed with the others. IMO you have to find a Subway with foreign workers who give a shit about their job, not teenagers or college students who go through a different job every week.

Subway was good back in the 90s. Then they got strapped for cash and ended up dramatically reducing food qualtiy just to be able to afford to exist. It's no longer "fresh" at all. Ingredients are changed out as infrequently as they can get away with, and some of their ingredients even arrive at the restaurant already spoiled / rotting.
Also the people here who criticize Subway have actually gone to far better alternative sandwich shops like Jersey Mike's or Firehouse Subs, and if you had done that yourself you wouldn't have asked about it to begin with. The difference isn't even close. Absolutely no one decides to eat at modern Subway after having tried JM's or Firehouse.
