the whole point of raising chickens were they were small enough to make an entire meal out of and could live in your backyard with not that much maintenance

also the best part of poultry is usually the skin, chicken has more skin per meat

I used to live near an ostrich farm in Denmark a few decades ago. Don't know why they stopped farming ostiches exactly. Maybe they just couldn't get people to buy them.
I mean, I live alone so I would very rarely be in the market for a bird that weighs the same as myself. A duck or goose is more than enough for that.
