I remember the first time I stopped drinking after getting into it much too heavily I didn't have any real withdrawl signs, but there was a hunger that didn't go away no matter what I ate. It wasn't a terrible hunger, but it always nagged. After about a month or slow it slowly faded and then I had zero cravings for it anymore.

I was totally sober then for a couple of years and didn't miss it even a little. Then life took some turns and I just wanted an escape. Since then I've been going back and forth. It's a strange experience.
