did this with my dad last year. went to my hometown for a friend's wedding that week. we drank whiskey and smoked pot and realized that there were trick or treaters for whom we had no candy and were not in a suitable state to deal with, so we lit a small candle and talked and listened to music. turned out to be a great night.
