So far I make a lot of meatballs and plain pasta with butter for the little ones.

All of that can be cooked from scratch.
Pork pies for example: get a pork shoulder and grind or chop finely, toss with some spice.
Boil some lard in water until melted, pour into salted flour and mix- now you've got a hot water pasty crust. Let it settle for a bit and then either shape it into a rough pie shape like playdough or roll it out and cut circles out big enough to line a muffin tin.

No, they don't. The success rate of long term relationships is less in gay couples than with other couples.
Being well adjusted is harder when your parents have big social stigmas or chips on their shoulder from their own walks in life/issues with their families, etc. I'm all for people adopting vs foster kids who will never have a permanent home, but don't make up "facts" like you know them to be true. More issues with yourself, means more issues to pass on to those who live with you.

OP, just serve your kids things you want them to like, or want them to like more. Your enthusiasm and enjoyment will be infectious given time. Add the oompf to what you make in the form of flavor elevating salsas, crunchy toppings, homemade hot sauces, dipping sauces, fruit mostardas, chutneys and condiments that elevate the adult portions. A lot of roasts are great for family dinners, because leftover meat and sides morph into 2nd meals, which in turn saves you from cooking every other night, or comes right out of the freezer into the oven to be reheated a day down the line you won't be sick of it.
