I use tupperware, old plastic containers (yogurt/sour cream/etc.), bowls topped with silicone steam lids.

>I tear up walmart bags
What the fuck anon. Those bags literally are not food safe because they are created from the lowest grade of recycled plastics. Food safe plastic is USDA/FDA inspected and certified to *not* contain toxic chemicals, shards of glass and other dangerous materials.

different bags

Because those plastics are food safe.

Are produce bags (as in the bags that are offered specifically in the produce section) the ones you are using? Or just the general plastic bags that you use when transporting your groceries? The latter is potentially dangerous to use.

>Is it safe to use grocery bags for cooking?
>No. Grocery bags are not intended or formulated for cooking foods. Levels of components such as metal fragments, glue and chemicals may be present at higher-than-acceptable limits and can migrate into the food. These bags may not necessarily be sanitary, particularly since they may be stored under a variety of conditions.

Yes. The bags are specifically different.

Yes. They should be located around the produce section, and also usually the meat section. These are made of different plastic, much thinner, and food safe. You're specifically supposed to use these for various reasons, to the point where despite larger plastic bag bans in the US, these types of bags are still kept in stores.
