I've been enjoying beets and Okinawan sweet potatoes. The Hmong farmers here grow good stuff.

Break it up in bite size chunks, steam it in a pressure cooker for 3-4 minute, sauté it in a pan with EVOO, a clove of garlic split in two, fresh chilli pepper.
Cook pasta for 2 minutes less than it has to and sauté it in the pan with the broccolo.
