I love Aldi but their whole labor division setup is so jewish. I mean, two people for the whole store, and they have to stock shelves or checkout, checkout being priority, but if nobody is at the till, they stock shelves, but have to keep an eye and ear out for someone at the till. Can't they at least put a bell there or something, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for another person to be on the checkout all day.

Thats how most grocery stores are designed here. You want to be able to run a big store with as few people as possible. This lets you run a store pretty much everywhere as long as it's halfway decently populated

Now imagine at least 6 other big chains doing this, as well as some regional ones. I've only taken a car to go shopping 3 times and everytime it involved a trailer and crates of beer

Why aren't they good for meat? I usually avoid fruit and vegetables from aldi because they tend to have a 90% of instantly going bad. Meat is fine though.

From what I've heard from my buddy who does the retail salesman, Aldi is incredibly autistic about the meat regulations, much more than pretty much everyone else. Problem is, being autistic about that stuff costs money so they have to compromise on meat quality to still be in range
