George Dickel 12 Tennessee whiskey is excellent and its slightly younger counterpart, GD 8, is still pretty good, so I bought some of the other GD offerings today: GD 1 (unaged corn whiskey/beginning stage of GD 8 and 12) and GD Rye.

I thought I would like the former more than the latter, but the opposite was the case. I've found I don't mind the spice level from rye, despite GD Rye's 95% rye content. It was actually not bad. meanwhile, the GD 1 was terrible. It smelled like a melted slurpee left out in the sun in a dirty sock. The taste was not much better; imagine drinking straight vegetable oil with alcohol mixed in. I will need to look into making cocktails that will incorporate and hide that vile creation.
