It's not a grilled cheese if you add either of those.

Which kind? I like a little bit of tomato sauce is good. Salsa or picante would probably be nice, but I've never tried it.

Greatest grilled cheese of all time
>two thick slices of French bread
>Brie
>Emmental
>Sharp white cheddar
>European style butter
Spread a generous amount of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place one butter-side down on a medium hot griddle. Layer slices of each cheese on top until you have the desired amount. Place the other slice of bread on top with the butter facing up. Cook until the first side is golden brown, then flip and continue to cook until that side reaches the same color. Serve with a large dill pickle spear and a spinach salad.

Ham.
and mustard.
and a third slice of bread.
Also if you can dip the bread in egg yolk for a bit first, so much the better.

>> No.13011522

Good pic. Good bread is also important; I like sourdough. If using cheap cheese, throw bacon, onions, mushrooms and whatever you want in. If it’s expensive cheese only use one or two complementary imgredients as to not overwhelm good cheese.
