Dogs evolved to recognise human emotions by our faces, voice and movements. They adapted to living near us, protecting and warning about invaders. They are easy to train and athletic, protective of human families.

Pigs evolved to be fat and tasty. They have intellectual potential to do smart things, but what's the point when the whole thing is a huge and dirty slob that poop buckets.

I am pro quality of life. Both pigs and dogs should not suffer unnecessarily and leave in clean environments, have enough sun light, etc. But I will eat only the first. Something vegans do not understand, overrating life over death: without farming, farm animal populations will decrease 99.9%. Why is better never to live so they won't kill them for food, than to farm and kill them when they grow up? We all die, in case you didn't notice, and animals do not have a culture to protect. They genetic heritage persists, so they still have a meaning in life (apart from giving us food).

Because pigs have been raised for hundreds and hundreds of years as livestock, in order to be turned into a plentiful source of food. Their intelligence is irrelevant--they are an inferior life-form that has been bred to suit our food needs as a species.

Dogs have been raised to be companions, protectors, and hunters. Their role is substantially more social for humans, and they are far more sanitary than pigs which makes them more suitable for living in the house. A dog doesn't need to roll itself in mud and shit to stay cool.

Dogs actually self-domesticated, according to some sources. They basically wandered into human life something like 10,000 years ago, and have been with us for so long that they've begun to evolve features that help integrate them better into human society. They removed themselves from the food chain by being better companions, hunters, pest control and guard animals than food.

Pigs are EXCELLENT food. So much so that the Spanish armada used to think of them as a military resource because of how easy it was to just release breeding pairs somewhere, let them utterly devastate the native ecosystem, and then come back some years later to find a hundred wild hogs ready to be butchered and eaten. They can live anywhere, eat almost anything, and survive in virtually all the climates known to man. They are uniquely suited to feed the human race, which lives everywhere and requires hardy sources of food that are in abundance, both of which pigs are.

Go ahead and tell me how you moral argument and your personal feelings make pigs a less viable meal somehow, like I'm supposed to care that you're butthurt about the moral implications of where your food comes from.

Bottom line, my ancestors' noble heritage as a scavenger has prepared me to eat almost anything that is food. Plants, animals, fruits, root vegetables, its all fair game. Explain to me, without using a moral argument, why logic says I should stop eating pork? Hell, by your argument we should start eating dogs, or at least we would if they weren't so useful for other things.

Because pigs are delicious, healthy, and are more economical to fatten. Pigs ARE as smart if not smarter than dogs, though. If there was an animal to feel bad about eating it's pigs. Unfortunately they're just so delicious.

Dogs, being predator carnivores, have very high iron content, are gamy and greasy, take a long time to grow to a large weight. They don't taste as good, are more labor intensive in the growing and butchering, and yield less for more cost. The only people who still eat dogs are Asian old fags that do so because of muh tradition because they grew up during famine when people were eating everything.

If you wanna keep eating meat and not feel guilty, go for sustainable fish and shellfish, both of which are dumb as fucking rocks. Just avoid anything farmed in China. And look carefully for the sustainable stuff, not everything - especially popular fishes - are. And the occasional steak because even if everyone in the world stopped eating cows simultaneously we'd still have billions of the fuckers for milk and cheese production and eventually those steers die and you eat them unless you're an India.
