Order the fries, and the toast. Then, tell the waitress that you have been meaning to visit the establishment ever since you heard they make really amazing french food, and you can't wait to try authentic fries and toast, in the style of the country that invented them.

There are about 20 fun and classic possible items you will find on a traditional menu at a french bistro. Order what you want, of course! Google their menu, look up anything you don't recognize. Never had snails? Get them! Weather might determine what you're in the mood to eat. There are some cook-all-day fussy classics like beef burgundy, cassoulet, or a homey bowl of onion soup, and short order/pan sauce kind of creations too, from steak frites, to steak oscar or like au poivre or filet of sole or croque madame. Yes you want bread. Yes, you want some pair some wine. Think about following your main with cheese and wine course.
Get dessert, who cares about being full, take it out in a to go container and sip an espresso. I suggest like a souffle or crepes.
