What are you guys drinking tonight? I started out with this, moved around with a few different beers. Now onto Leini's Grapefruit Shandy. It's not that good desu.

I'm getting there desu. I like beer a fair bit but I don't really like most liquor that much. I can drink whiskey on the rocks but I'd almost always prefer a good beer over that. I'll take some mixed drinks, but I don't generally have mixers in my apartment.
This is what I'm drinking now. It's not bad. From what I've gotten from this brewery, they are well and good but nothing too special. The only beer from them I'd consider going out of my way for is their cream ale.

Yes. I'm not a huge ipa guy, but this is one of my favorites. Plenty of malt to provide balance, and it has a nice blend of bitter, hop flavor, and aroma.

It was out before ipas became a war of who can jam more ibus into their bottle. I also find i like the classic hops (in this case centennial) more than the fruitier/danker hops, especially when used in large quantities.

Beer is everywhere. It's just that 95% is either Fiji Bitter, Fiji Gold, Vonu or some other shit made by the only brewery - which are all macro lagers, arranged in descending order of shittiness - and the rest are mediocre bottled imports.

>but isn't it basically a paradise?
Lmao not even.

>just drink cocktails on the beach until your back in society
I'm not at a resort and I'm far away from a beach (much less a decent beach), I don't like sitting in the sun, it rains almost every day and the cocktails are like $12 USD because the taxes on hard liquor here are insane. A bottle of Jack Daniels costs $90 USD and the domestic stuff isn't much cheaper.

The "everything with 'pale' in the name must be a hop delivery vessel first and foremost" meme is everywhere these days but between Stone and Ballast Point San Diego is about as close to a ground zero as you'll find for the whole incredibly shitty trend. New England-style IPAs (the "east coast IPA" ) is still bitter and strong but the hops are balanced by a malt backbone and there's less focus on the hops in general.
