Anyone ever tried this?

Thinking about making it tomorrow for part of our buffet at a family party. I think I'll put a bit of parsley on mine to add a bit of colour/make it look gormet/not so cheap.

If anyone has had it, or made it, is it good?

No sauce?

>> No.12917390

Maybe do this with better quality sausage? I know you're not using a damn Bar S hot dog.

>> No.12917391

Pretty sure the spaghetti inside the meat will be undercooked at best.

Yeah I was thinking of having a ketchup or mustard based Italian sauce to go well with this dish and really bring the flavours together. Not sure exactly what to do just yet though.

>>12917390
I kind of like the idea of using old school hotdogs - I mean, who doesn't love one of those once in a while?

>>12917391
You might be right to be honest, and I didn't think about that. Thinking about it now though, it might actually add a nice texture to the hotdog?

>> No.12917420

Boiling the sausage will make it loose it's flavour.

I dont really see the benefit of doing that. Just cook them separately and mix them together afterwards. It's still gonna be bland as fuck but less work nonetheless

Yeah because it's spaghetti and hot dogs so it would be the perfect sauce (theoretically) but I do need to find out specifically how I'm gonna do it.

it's kinda funny to do once but not really ideal, like others said you have you have to boil the hot dog far too long to cook the spaghetti

My great grandmother used to make us top ramen a and before she boiled hotdogs in separate water she would cut the bottoms about 2/3 or more up with 4 even slices and make octopus hotdogs on top of noodles, we where kids and thought it was fun

Checked.

I think it could work, after you boil the spags enough that they're not-quite-al-dente, just slide each strand up a bit so that the part stuck in the sausage also gets cooked

I did this, it actually turned out pretty well. in my opinion you shouldn't add sauce, just a lot of butter. If you're grossed out by hot dogs then have a bowl of red sauce nearby. You also would probably have better reactions if you substituted the dog for sausages.

So I've been thinking of a way to fix your stupid idea, maybe make an Asian dish. Try like 3 chopped up on noodles instead of one, add green onion, egg, diced carrots, soy sauce, beef boulon and some spices. If all else fails at rooster hot sauce

>just slide each strand up a bit
lmao you would just tear them apart

If I wanted to do this (fat chance) I would cook the spaghetti, then lay a few out on parchment paper or whatever and put them in the freezer. Then poke the sausage with sth larger than the noodles so that at least some cooking water has a way to get in and then push in the frozen noodles. Still might end up with cold noodles inside..
