Bout to defrost ground beef in the microwave, is this a bad idea or nah? And yeah I’m just now realizing how fucked up the inside of my microwave looks.

Gross. Yeah it's fine, I always do this since I just brown it in a pan afterwards anyways.

put it in warm water for a couple of minutes

This. It partially cooks by steaming under the defrost cycle. Browning never works well after that.

No, personally I dont even own a microwave. I dont even like freezing meat, better fresh, but if you must then defrost it in a timely manner. If you want a speedy defrost them float it (in a sealed bag) in some cold water for a couple hours.

terrible idea. defrosting in lukewarm (or hot) water will make you ill due to growing bad bacteria. always defrost in cold water.

If you just going to make burgers you should just take the ground beef and mold it into patties and then freeze it.

You don't have to even defreeze them afterwards because all you got to do is take the frozen patty put it on a pan on the stove and leave it on low and forget about it. Come back to it in like a half hour pour the excess oil off and water and flip it let it cook for another 15 minutes.

If you cook shit low on low it doesn't matter how Frozen something is it'll thaw out naturally without any freezer burn taste.

Dont have to cook things fast anon

Definitely not okay in THAT microwave

But literally all you have to do is put it in the fridge rather than the freezer the night before, how hard is this

Eat something else tonight and reflect in silence on your stupidity

Get a big pot, fill it with cold water and let it sit in there for an hour or so, warm water is a bad idea since you don't want to cook it in the water.
