the trick is to heat them by cooking them in a pan on medium heat.
before you put the beans in, finely chop up some chorizo sausage and some onion and throw it in there. when they're nice and cooked add in the beans.
when all of the beans are cooked through, pour it all over 2 pieces of buttery, cheesy toast.

make your own in a pressure cooker.
canned beans all have a canned bean taste.
1.blanch beans for 2 minutes, to kill the beans.
2. Rinse and cool off in water, then replace water and soak in cold water for 8 hours
3. discard water, put beans in pressure cooker, add salt and a little oil fill pressure cooker with water so there's about an 1/2 to an inch of water over the beans.
4. set heat to 6.5 on 1-10 scale so it gradually and evenly brings itself up to pressure.
5. when a steady stream of steam is coming out of the pressure cooker, increase heat to 8, then pressure cook the beans for 1 minute.
6. after one minute, remove pc from heat source.
7. How long you wait until depressurizing the PC by running cold water over it in the sink depends on the type of bean you are cooking. pinto beans take 20 minutes, great northerns take 15 minutes or less, kidney beans take around 15 minutes. If you depressurize the pc and the beans aren't ready, just simmer them for a while on the stove, do not try and start up the pressure cooker again.
8. then dump beans in collander and run cold water over the beans to cool them off, then put beans in jars and into the fridge or freezer.

What I mean by this is add cold water and salt, then put the pot of beans in a cool place, covered, but do not put them in the fridge. The fridge is too cold.
