I just bought a bottle of this and started sipping it, I'm not sure what to think. What do I think of it, /ck/?

I absolutely despise gin. Every time this stuff passes my lips I am left with a headache and/or the immediate desire to puke. First time I ever tried it was unironically Bombay Sapphire and I was a dozen drinks in and still going strong until a sip of this trash left the nastiest taste in my mouth, left me feeling nauseous and causing me to puke everywhere minutes later. The few hangovers I've ever had in my life were after trying gin a few more times and being left with the nauseating fumes of juniper berries stuck in my nostrils for the next two days.

Tldr; Hard Pass

Based tanqueray bros. The bitterness of Tanqueray mixes perfectly with tonic water, making the smoothest G&Ts.
Bombay Sapphire was specifically designed for martinis, it's too sweet for tonic water.

Used to like bombay but I realized it's not that great.

Think whatever you like - they are your taste buds. Personally, I think it's decent. Not great but good enough that I usually just drink it on the rocks rather than mixing it. That, or a dry martini.

That said, this is my favorite gin. No idea where they distribute to though.

I had a similar experience with Gordon's. Thought I hated gin, but really, I just don't like ones in that style.

The bottle is blue, not the gin.

Now, Empress 1908, on the other hand, is a vivid indigo because of the use of butterfly pea blossom, and turns pink when it comes in contact with citrus or tonic.

my Tanq bros
I bought picrel Tanqueray Bloomsbury limited edition just today and it is simply fantastic. All the dry bite of classic Tanqueray, but smoothed out with a floral bouquet rather than citrus, making it softer without making it sweeter.
I made a spin on a gimlet by using
>1.5oz Tanqueray Bloomsbury
>2 drops grapefruit tincture (bitters)
>1 drop lavender tincture (bitters)
>.5 oz lavender simple syrup
Shaken with ice and served up. I can't wait to come up with other things to do with this gin.
Have you ever had their Rangpur? Fantastic and I hope it never leaves store shelves.

>>12875641
Unfortunately, classic Hendrick's is barely a gin. The new age stuff is a lot more like flavored vodka than gin because they don't use bittering botanicals. However, Hendrick's also makes great limited edition gins that do use bittering agents. Their Midsummer Solstice was great with grapefruit juice and the Orbium made a nice spicy G&T. The best G&T uses tonic syrup and seltzer rather than premixed tonic - find Liber & Co or Bittermens tonic syrup for your world to be shook.

Im sorry gin murdered your father and raped your dog, m8. But, i drink whiskey like a fish and gin is just as nuanced, it just not as accessible to most people. If you’re one of those girls that thinks it tastes like pine tar then maybe try a gin and sprite with a bunch of lemons and limes. Theres a gin cocktail for everyone

As much as I prefer whiskey, I don't see your point. Forgetting about a barrel for 10 years isn't effort. Figuring out the proportions of your 111 secret herbs and spices is.
