I am so fucking pissed that California Olive Ranch started blending their olive oil with oil from other countries. They were the one brand that I could reliably find in the grocery store that wasn't from other countries. They just started blending it and tried to hide it like no one would notice. See how "grown globally, crafted in California" is in literally the smallest font on the bottle? Fucking shady as shit. So I guess they are forcing me to buy online now, not from them though.

What are your favorite olive oils produced entirely within USA?

I found one of the studies which discovered the olive oil fraud prevalent in imported olive oils https://olivecenter.ucdavis.edu/media/files/report041211finalreduced.pdf

> Of the five top-selling imported “extra virgin” olive oil brands in the United States, 73 percent of the samples failed the IOC sensory standards for extra virgin olive oils analyzed by two IOC-accredited sensory panels. The failure rate ranged from a high of 94 percent to a low of 56 percent depending on the brand and the panel. None of the Australian and California samples failed both sensory panels, while 11 percent of the top-selling premium Italian brand samples failed the two panels. Sensory defects are indicators that these samples are oxidized, of poor quality, and/or adulterated with cheaper refined oils.

>> No.12859559

I'm in the same boat, OP. They still sell the domestic-only bottles, they're just way way way more expensive. It's fucking bullshit, I don't want Europe's tainted diluted olive oil. Italian products are a meme that are shit quality for anyone outside of the country.

Get picrel brand if you can find it. It's cheap enough to use on a daily basis and it's tasty; they have a couple different "blends" of olives/olive harvests, one that's called "gold medal" which is more neutral/versatile and another called "mild & fruity" which is very bright and fruity and especially good drizzled on salad with lemon juice and salt.

California growers with little care for profit since they are wealthy techies are the reason cooc holds the highest standards, most old world fail to live up to

Cobram Estate you big dummy
You can get their 100% California select if you must have USA only olive oil.
Also, what is wrong with you and not being up to date? Australia has the highest standards for olive oil and defeated the "extra virgin" olive oil importer mafia. That was years ago.
Also, their caps suck so don't overtighten them or they might pop back up. Sometimes they print the date on the wrong side of the bottle.
If you want something better you are going to have to special order or visit your local olive grove.
