sun dried tomatoes in fettuccine alfredo yes or no?

You can actually buy an alfredo sauce with sundried tomatoes in it
It's actually pretty fucking good

>> No.12801899

Yes, it works well.

Not op, but if there's one thing i cant stand being premade or from a jar is alfredo sauce. It's always too thick and has a weird garlic after taste. It's so much better to make a quick alfredo sauce.

Sundried tomatoes are amazing.

it's the easiest sauce to make, why anyone would pay for it is beyond me

also my local pasta makers didnt have fettuccine. Will linguini be ok? Making chicken alfredo btw

Laziness. I came home from being away for 2 months and my SO had 7 empty jars of alfredo despite making it themselves a couple of times in the beginning. Sheer and utter laziness.

heavy cream and Parmesan are both more expensive than a jar of alfredo sauce.

I wouldn't be pissed about the store bought sauce as much as the fact that the person was hoarding pasta sauce jars. Who eats alfredo 7 times in 2 months? There's a lot going wrong here

I like to keep jars here and there, they come in handy. I didn't need all 7 jars though. They ate it more than 7 times, they just bought 7 jars loool.

Yes, as long as it's treated well. I've had sun-dried tomato that wasn't allowed to rehydrate well before. It was jarring.

so cut it with pasta water and season it yourself
i'm a wagie so most of my shopping is done at the dollar store and it's much cheaper to get a jar of sauce than spend the time and $ and make it myself

>> No.12802471

>>12802160
I can buy a half pint of cream for $2.14 and some parm for around $6
the average jarred alfredo sauce costs like 2 dollars
assuming your kitchen has essential herbs and spices it seems worth it to go out of your way to actually buy these things for yourself, you can use them for other things as well
also uhhhhhhhhh No Weird Chems Bro Lol

You aren't wrong but the cream is going to go bad before a jar of sauce with some preservatives will. I try to build most of my sauces from scratch but I still have jars or packets lying around for when I don't have the ingredients or just don't feel like it. Even then you can take that premade stuff and jazz it a little.

funny, I just started my second job as a pasta maker. It's relaxing as fuck after being on a busy foodtruck allday. Plus I'll be able to serve my own pasta, lasanga, and pizza from the truck during winter besides soups, chowders, and chilli.

Not all noodles are egg noodles. There are other noodles that dont have eggs. They are not called egg noodles because they do not have eggs. Some noodles dont have eggs but egg noodles do and that is why we call them egg noodles.
