Because they're fucking primitives who didn't even invent the wheel or bows and arrows. They could only eat what was common or easy to catch or burn out of forests. Kangaroo was about the height of their "cuisine". They haven't developed any "dishes". There's a lot of food in restaurants here that CLAIMS to be "inspired by aboriginal culture"...but it's just white people trying to imbue the abos with a "culture" that doesn't and never did exist.
If you like insects, bugs, half roasted kangaroos and other slower animals just burned in a fire without real preparation, then go for it.

That's pretty similar to aborigines and their "hunting" methods.
They would burn huge land areas and grasslands (in one of the driest countries on Earth) and basically scare off animals to hope to hit them with boomerangs or spears, or pick up the burned carcasses of the slower ones.
That's about as advanced as it got. At least the American indian had bows and arrows. And clothing. And houses. And a culture.

Yes. Fuel companies had to specifically develop a special blend of unleaded fuel for outback areas because of the petrol sniffing (and drinking in later stages) by aborigines. You used to pull up to remote roadhouses and petrol stations to fill up, and the owner would come out, check around, unlock a huge steel cage around the fuel pumps, fill your car up, and then just as quickly lock up the pumps again. And all the while you're doing it, you could see abos looking from nearby streets (usually teenagers or kids) almost looking hungrily at you filling up your car or truck.
It was amazing to see.
