I agree. I wish there were decent movies still being made and it didn't cost $20 a person to go. I always used to share a popcorn and then get a candy and a drink. My favorite movie candy was always Sweet Tarts - which you couldn't get in a box until relatively recently, so there was always some to take home and eat as leftovers to savor the experience. Otherwise it was most often raisinettes or sno caps. I don't really go to the movies anymore unless there's something I really want to see (I kind of want to see the new Tarantino, but wasn't really into his last to films, and don't think I can sit in a crowded theater for 3 hours; the last thing I saw was Alita because fuck you), but now I'll bring my own water bottle and a flask of vodka. In any case, if you're going to splurge on going out to the movies popcorn is essential to the experience in my honest opinion.
