Custard has some egg in it, this is good both because of flavor and because it raises the freezing point allowing it to hold shape with a better texture at a little bit warmer temperature making your tongue more receptive to the flavors

Now the downside is that if you take some home and put it in your freezer it gets too cold and rock solid and is moderately annoying to serve, so it is best consumed fresh from the proper equipment
