Rich people are so out of touch with reality that they pay to do what poor people do every day. That's why you see rich white men going to undeveloped countries and do what they do while showing it on TV and getting ratings.

Cooking itself is fun. It's the prepping and cleaning that sucks.

Lol

The last time I went to shabu shabu (shabuya in los angeles) i had some good entertainment
Went with my whole family
Dad and brother seated together. Next to them is a quiet couple on an obviously awkward first date. No chemistry, dude must have been a juan don only in text.
My dad and my brother are both violent eaters. Shit goes flying everywhere. Im used to it by now, i eat my little bitch portions by myself.
As soon as their broth starts bubbling, little brother and dad tip the meat trays and slide the whole thing into the soup. They are already off to the races. I feel for those poor souls next to them. Was waiting for broth or boiling hot veggie to slap the girl or dude on the face, it might have happened, I dont know. But my old man and bro are just breaking a bead trying to stuff their faces, making the wagies pretty much come nonstop with meat, and i can see the girls face next to them, she is perturbed as hell. Between her phone and glancing nervously towards my brother, none of her attention is going to the poor cuck thats paying for her meal. And the dudes face just has virgin stress written all over it, hes probably thinking all sorts of nasty shit in his head about my dad because what can you break the ice with when you can barely talk over MMRMAF SNARF BUUURP OVER HERE MORE BRISKET RJJEHRBBRAAAP BUUUUURRP MORE BROTH WAGIE IF YOU PLEASE BBRRAAAP

God i love my boomer father. And i love that my lil bro inherited all the boomer genes. Fun times.

Sorry you don't have any friends or family to enjoy it with. You sound bitter. What you're paying for is the convenience of having all the ingredients there and prepped for you. Also not having to clean any of it up or supply your own cookware. It's just a fun social activity, but I your autism prevents you from understanding that

Honestly, ordering a seafood mix is a good start at hotpot restaurants. You get a fair variety, plus you can avoid the usual overcooking problems by always keeping a grip on your food while it's in the pot. Proper freezing negates most potential health issues of undercooking.

These koresn bbq places are so shit here. The meat is so thin but the grill is not hot enough so you always have grey meat.

I went there 2 nights in a row when alone in LA on business. The Shabu Shabu was good but the server at the bar was super hot and I have a bad case of yellow fever. Cool story, right?

Isn't the whole point eating it as fresh and soon as possible? Rather than letting the cook decide how cooked it is and all that you just do what you want with the ingredients?

That applies to any kind of food though.
I figure the point is having all the ingredients easily accessible, the broth especially if its the type that takes days to make
Plus, you know, lazy people would rather pay to have it all prepared for them rather than go out and find all the ingredients and prepare the whole table and everything.

>Cooking itself is fun. It's the prepping and cleaning that sucks.
This.

Having it all prepped, put into bowls, served and setup with a grill and not having to clean afterwards is great. You also avoid any microwaved fabrications and can actually inspect the food without any cooking to hide imperfections. Getting it fresh and hot at your own pace with another company sounds like a good occasion.
