IMPOSSIBLE WHOPPER Burger King has a new vegetarian sandwich
Even though it’s plant-based, it’s not exactly the healthiest choice on the menu. Actually, it has almost the same amount of calories as a regular Whopper. And, it also has 16 percent more carbs than Burger King’s flagship sandwich.

Just had one.

It's not a bad vegan burger, but it's by no means a "meat replacement"

Doesn't taste like meat, doesn't feel like meat.

I like veggie burgers but yeah you can't really view them as a meat replacement. They can just be good as their own thing though.

Is it those impossible burgers?
I had them once, they were pretty decent, but they kind of lack some parts of a hamburger. The texture is also kinda weird, like eating a pulled pork sandwich but the pork is pressed into a patty.

tasted just like a whopper. something was "off" but i'd say it was 95% there. i would say i'm impressed. definitely feel full and satisfied like i just ate a real whopper.

whopper has never been known for high quality meat. when this was first announced, i thought the chewy and kind of rubbery texture of the whopper patty was probably why they were going to adopt it before everyone else. now that i've had it, i think i was correct in that assessment.

i think wendy's could work it into their line-up. and the smaller burgers and big mac at mcdonald's would be ok. i don't think it could mimic a double quarter pounder accurately.

I plan to buy one even though it contains soy and maybe a chemical pesticide. but when are they going to make gluten free donuts?

Additionally, company founder Pat Brown wrote the other day that the Impossible Burger will now be using GMO soy in its burgers. Genetically-modified soy is sprayed with Roundup and is one of Monsanto’s most important products.

“We are shocked to find that the Impossible Burger can have up to 11x higher levels of glyphosate residues than the Beyond Meat burger according to these samples tested. This new product is being marketed as a solution for ‘healthy’ eating, when in fact 11 ppb of glyphosate herbicide consumption can be highly dangerous. Only 0.1 ppb of glyphosate has been shown to alter the gene function of over 4,000 genes in the livers, kidneys and cause severe organ damage in rats. I am gravely concerned that consumers are being misled to believe the Impossible Burger is healthy,” said Zen Honeycutt, Executive Director of Moms Across America.

Most vegetarians and vegans eat stuff with shared cooking utensils all the time, it's nbd. All except those with actual food allergies or the most uptight of vegans will give a shit. Most of them will just be pleased that one more impossible patty served is 1 less chunk of cow flesh.

Omg the qt girl at the register had a impossible Whopper shirt on

>> No.12753106

Mine had a fucktonne of mayonnaise slathered onto the bottom bun. I didn't ask for any mayo and I didn't know it came standard with sandwiches from BK since I last ate there... like... eleven years ago or so? Whenever Hootie was doing a commercial for them, that's the last time I went.
Anyway: mayonnaise.
I'm not vegan or even veggiemuhtarian, but I could see a vegan cunt losing her shit over mayo on her ImpossiWhopper.

>> No.12753137

Tried it. Edges get a little dry. Other than that it's okay. It's better if you get TWO patties.

Trust me. It's not the best without the mayo, as it can be a bit dry around the edges. I went to two different BKs two different times today, and at the second one, they forgot to put the mayo. It was definitely less good. If you're not a fan of mayo, maybe this isn't the sandwich for you.

That's why the impossible whopper is actually an improvement. Well, to be sure it's not as good as at Red Robin, but it's still pretty good.

>> No.12753167

>>12752086
You're wrong. It tastes less good than a proper burger because it's BK, NOT because it's Impossible. Just like I said in an earlier post, now you should upgrade to Red Robin's version. It is similarly 95% indistinguishable from their actual burger, which say what you will about Red Robin, is definitely better than a beef whopper.

Didn't say that at all. I like mayonnaise. I was just surprised about how much there was on the fucker.
I gave a review of it in the other Impossible Whopper thread. I'll link it here If ya wanna read it.

How do these mass-market impossible / beyond burgers work. Is the company who owns "impossible burgers" selling them pre-formed patties or do they just sell big tubs of vege goop that restaurants have to season and prepare? Or what distinguishes a burger sold from BK, White Castle, Red Robin, Bareburger, etc. all sold under the same brand name?

I was seriously impressed. It's a little more dried-out and crispy than a regular fast food patty, and there's a slight artificial element to it, but in the context of a whopper I'd only have a slight preference for real beef. Most of the flavor and texture is there.

He’s half retarded but half right. Your gut biome is drastically different when eating a lot of vegetable foods especially fibrous ones, if you maintain that long enough, conceivably you can experience some discomfort if you resume eating meat, especially in large quantities initially, not necessarily vomiting and not likely from just consuming some grease

May also explain the phenomena of why some vegetarians, morals aside, get grossed out by a meat analogue, from taste, smell, or texture

>> No.12757682

I've had an Impossible combo for the past 2 days straight. It's a satisfying meal and I don't get that "oh shit I'm going to die" feeling that I get from eating a big greasy burger. The taste is more meaty than a regular veggie burger. It's not going to fool you into believing it's real flesh but in the context of the rest of the burger ingredients it's really nice.
Fresh hot french fries help too.

>> No.12757698

It really is filling in a good way by fast food standards. Tastes like a dryer Whopper to me, could fool me easily personally. BK fries are garbage they dont salt them right and they definitely changed the cooking oils in recent years
