Is this a common thing? Cold egg and vegetables served in a cup. It wasn't bad, but a bit strange to be served cold.

I was surprised. Before I dug in I assumed it was a yogurt dish.
The full plate was great, though. That thicc toast, man.

It might be inspired by it. It's breakfast from an artsy cafe in Saporro.
I asked about the egg dish because I wasn't sure if it was Japan being fucking weird or what.

Josh?

I once had Eggs Benedict that looked like that, it was the chef's autism that they thought it was the 'best' way and refused to do it any other way. I never went back to that cafe again.
An under-done poached egg served cold sounds like a Japanese thing to do and an artsy cafe sounds like where they'd do it.

No, it's not a common thing.
