Why would I buy 1.75 L bottles of the two on the left if I didn't like them? That combined with tiny 50 mL bottles of JD and JB on te opposite end should make things extremely obvious.

I found this for 1706 yen yesterday so I bought it.

Damn it is sweet. Extremely sweet. I mean I kind of expected it but holy crap. Obviously not good enough to drink on its own but I made a bunch of highballs with it that were fine.

Seems like it is around $30 in the states which isn't worth it. I got it for half that here in Japan.

It clearly states this is a whiskey thread. If you want to talk about tequila or vodka, make a tequila thread or a vodka thread. Quit bitching about what you don't like and make the change you want to happen yourself instead of lazily waiting for someone else to do it for you.

The spicy burn you feel from bourbon come from its rye content, so a rye whiskey is going to have that aspect turned way up. If that's not your thing, go with BT (if you can find it).

So I have a huge fucking collection but now my family is scared that I'm an alcoholic despite me never getting even close to drunk. They have wine fridges and one has even a cellar with like 200 bottles but I have about 20 different varieties of whiskey and suddenly I'm two sips away from beating my wife and killing someone in a drunk driving situation. Anyone else have a weird shitty situation like this?

For you (If you actually like whiskey/bourbon), Evan Williams black is the best bang for your buck and most shitty college friends will drink it no problem. For girls, get a flavored bird dog one. And if you’re looking to jump up a level in quality and have like $40 to drop, Basil Hayden’s, Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey, Angel’s Envy, Rittenhouse Rye, Gentleman Jack are all great. Evan Williams Black is about the cheapest bourbon you can get that doesn't taste like lighter fluid. It's also available everywhere. Sam's Club liquor stores, for instance, sell only around seven kinds of bourbon in the big 1.75 L bottles and EW Black is one of them. Priced at only $20, too, which is insane (good insane), as a 750 mL bottle of JD is the same price and no where near as good.

Bourbon is required to have a certain mix in its mash bill, and because most distillers are traditionalists, you're never going to have a lot of strange, oddball ones. So yes, they do taste very similar, but to play Devil's Advocate, some people like consistency.
