Whenever I go to another country, if I have a little spare time, I like to visit a McDonalds and have one of their country-specific items. They're usually okay, my favorite being the shrimp burgers that a lot of Asian countries do (Korea had one where it had a shrimp patty on top of a beef patty that was great). Only one that sucked was the spaghetti in the Philippines. You couldn't make worse spaghetti if you only had ketchup packets and pack of ramen noodles (no seasoning packet) to work with, and no boiling water.

My brother says you can get a mega mac in America by ordering a big mac and asking for double patties.
What should really piss you off is that Mcdonalds in other countries, especially Asian countries, is actually nice. Like the people who work there are polite, and your food comes out nice and neat on a tray without even a single fry astray. The food's presentation is like it came out of a commercial. Plus the eating area and bathrooms are actually clean.

I think the American Mcdonalds are really trying to fight the "we're unhealthy" stigma attached to them, so they're not really willing to advertise over-the-top fun stuff. I think it's counter-intuitive: personally, if I want to eat healthy, I'll stay home and prepare a meal.
