If you're actually eating less calories than you need to maintain your current weight, then the weight won't just instantly drop off. If it's been weeks/months and you haven't lost weight, then you're still eating too much. Try doing 16-24 hours fasts, or just keep reducing portion sizes until you lose weight, or actually calculate your calorie intake instead of just guessing.

Exercise is good and you should do it anyway, but the main way to lose weight is fixing your diet.

You need to eat high starch/very low fat meals that will keep your blood sugar stable for many hours. Foods like beans and oatmeal and pasta and fibrous bread.

I did not feel hungry at all. These days I regularly do three day fasts and I still never feel hungry or full. Childhood obesity ruined me. I will never be able to trust my body when I should eat.

24 hour fasts are okay because it's a lot harder to overeat during a single meal, and it's not long enough to really cause any problems. Going a week is probably pushing it.

unfortunatly fats have a really high energy density. to be save I'd always recommend counting calories.

Fasting for 1-2 days helped me break through a plateau. therefore I second that recommendation.
