i've read people say you should fill coffee in a moka pot to where the line is, as the coffee expands. as opposed to filling the basket all the way. if you look where the line is, it will be a small amount of coffee. anyone tried it?

I have never heard that. It may depend on the grind size. If anything I have noticed finner grinds expand less and end up taking a smaller amount of space in the brew basket post brew.

I took the photo in low light which prompted the phone to adjust the sensor to higher sensitivity; like using a high ISO film. This creates more "noise". I used picnic filter which adds more pink, this colors the "noise" a reddish hue.

What's a good affordable burr grinder?

I'm so sick of my coffee turning out like shit at home. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I know my blade grinder is shit so I need to fix this at least. I had a Black and Decker one and it did not work at all. I don't mind spending a bit of money for a good one. I don't want one that makes a big mess either. Help

The thing you have to remember is it brews concentrated coffee. Its not like filter or pour over; it contains a lot of coffee particles. I have heard a good amount of people feel ill after consuming more than "3cups" worth in one sitting. I uasally add enough hot water so it makes 9oz all together. I know this is 4chan, but I'm being honest.

Mess is entirely up to static cling.
You can avoid static by using a grinder with a glass catch jar.
You can make pouring the grounds easier still by eliminating static in the beans. Stir a single drop of water into your measured portion of beans before grinding, say by giving the back of a spoon a quick rinse.
