I just ate some KFC and nearly threw up in the process. It was overwhelmingly greasy and had these weird squishy pockets of oil soaked flour trapped between the crust and the meat. The flavor reminded me of vomit and irritated the back of my throat.

How can they fuck up fried chicken so badly? Popeye's doesn't have that problem. Even Walmart's fried chicken is better than KFC.

I'm not just ranting, I'm genuinely curious what they're doing to make their chicken so bafflingly terrible.

They decreased quality in their ingredients and process to maximize profit and minimize cost as well as streamline training so a trained chimp making min. wage could produce it. The fact KFC is owned by the same company that manages Taco Bell and Pizza Hut should tell you something

Wal-Mart has better resource logistics. In fact that's Wal-Marts whole thing, it built itself off a network of truck and warehouse logistics that allows it to undercut others on price by reducing supply cost

Leaf here, its interesting that our fast food is tasty but really bad for you, but then you go to the US, pay half the price get twice the amount but it just tastes like garbage.

All fast food is worse in the US
its always so fucking disappointing.

Yeah, my biggest issue with UK KFC is that my local ones over-brine the chicken on occasion and it gets absolutely fucking rammed full of people so you have to wait for 20 minutes even for basic shit during the lunch/dinner rushes. It's nothing like the bitching I hear from US folks, and the same applies to every fast food chain.

The food quality can vary a lot between locations for the same chain depending on how good the workers are. Sounds like they fried too much chicken at one time or didn't let the fryer fully heat up before starting a batch which is when it usually ends up being too greasy.

It makes me wonder how the country with probably the most chains has the lowest quality standards. Common sense would be that competition makes the chains do the best they can.

Maybe it's something with american food culture. I've heard many times that people don't cook, so maybe restaurants try to replace home cooking in a household managment sense by having cheap large portions that are barely edible but very filling. I'm just guessing.
