What are you drinking tonight? For me, it's Gordon's.

The Gordon's we get in the States is cheap swill. Maybe it's different in Mother England, but over here Tanqueray and Beefeater are both superior choices if you don't want to shell out for Hendrick's.

bombay sapphire
I'd prefer death's door though

But Tanqueray and Beefeater are accordingly more expensive, so what's your point?

how much does it cost where you live, I live in UK where it's made and at the minute it's on offer in a supermarket for £17.00 for 1 litre usually it's £20 also i'm not sure if the yellow bottle in your pic is the same as the green bottle we get here ours is labeled as 'special dry london gin'. I like gin every now and then and I prefer it to vodka for drinking neat as it has some flavor but whisky is my choice.

Where I live it looks like OPs but is in a plastic bottle and its like $12.99

Why are you making a thread if you don't enjoy alcohol? Get some nice gin.
I finished a bottle of Giniversity. Might go for an aged version next.

If you read the Ian Fleming novels, 007’s favorite gin was Gordon’s. Now 007 drinks Colt 45.

Thinking if I should wait to drink the rest with friends tomorrow or get blackout drunk alone

I want to get drunk so bad but I haven't had anything to drink in over 2 weeks. Alcohol, beer, tequila, preoccupies my mind. Just a few more weeks until I can drink.

Promised myself I wouldn't have anything to drink until I finish something. And I know that if I do have something to drink it will escalate, I usually black out when I drink

Gordons is nice for the price. I make a lot of cocktails so I usually have that on hand as well as a rotating nicer gin. Right now its Bombay Sapphire East.

>more expensive
Well sure. There's not much that isn't (Burnett's, Fleischmann's, and Gibey's all go for under $10, but that's about it for brands with any history behind them at all). Even Seagram's is more expensive than Gordon's here. That's why I said it's cheap swill. OK, so it's not $6/bottle Fleischmann's, but that's a low bar.

IMO, if you can't afford $20-25/bottle, then you should probably quit drinking and save your money.

Gordon's was far better in Ian Fleming's day than it is now. It's watered down to 37% ABV in the U.K. now, and even in America it's only 40%, whereas the better brands are around 47%. Also, the Gordon's in America doesn't even come from the same distilleries: it's made domestically under license. Tanqueray, Beefeater, and Boodles are all actually imported (we get the same higher proof versions of those that are still sold in continental Europe, despite the British market having gone to 40% or lower).

>>12645018
I've never actually tried Hendricks. I only mention it because I've heard good things from some reviewers. I usually stick to Tanqueray, myself.

>>12645411
In my part of the U.S., it's $11.99 for a "fifth" (750mL or approximately 1/5 of a gallon—the standard size for a liquor bottle here), or $19.99 for a "sixty" (1.75mL, or approximately 60 U.S. fluid ounces). My state's liquor stores don't offer Gordon's in liter bottles.

By comparison, a fifth of some of the imported brands:
-Beefeater: $22.99 (but a liter is listed at $21.99)
-Bombay Original Dry: $21.99
-Bombay Sapphire: $24.99 (but on sale for $19.99)
-Boodles: $21.99
-Tanqueray: $23.99 (but on sale for $18.99)
-Plymouth (not a London Dry Gin, I know, but worth mentioning): $34.99
