I used to use cast iron a lot until I got some good stainless steel pans. Thing is you can get a big cast iron skillet for like $20. But its harder to maintain the seasoning if you cook low fat or acidic food. Higher priced stainless steel is just better IMO.

Serious question: My cast iron skillet is sticky all over, perhaps from improperly seasoning, not wiping off enough excess oil. How do I fix this? I was thinking of going over it lightly with a scrubby pad and putting on a fresh coat the thin, correct way.
