Name a more overhyped cuisine than Ethiopian.

It is basically Indian food, but less flavorful. The sourness of the injera bread leaves an unpleasant backend to each bite of your meal, and at the end of the day I would have much preferred eating it all over rice with a fork than fumbling and tearing this shitty sponge bread.

I love Ethiopian food, though I'm also a fan of authentic Indian food as well.

Though, I always ask for a fork and knife because I'm terrible at using the bread to scoop the toppings.

It has good, strong flavors. I even love the sponge bread. It's like a tangy sourdough.

Most sourdough is pretty mild, so you might just not be used to it. Or maybe I simply enjoy sourness more than the average person. But my favorite bread was some homemade sourdough that almost had a vinegary bite to it because it was so sour.

Recently had Ethiopian food for the first time last week and it was great. Flavors were good and we also got some honey wine to share; just a tasty and fun social meal all around.
The bread is pretty neat and I liked eating the sauce-soaked bread at the bottom near the end of the meal. I will agree that the acidity/sourness of the plain bread did get a little much near the end though.

Lmao. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to food. I was excited to try Ethiopian for years, as I heard rave things about it. My experience wasn't horrible, it was just quite mediocre, with the sourness of the bread cutting through each dish being the most irritating part. There were certain things I liked quite a bit, but it isn't something I'd be compelled to eat again
