If they were thin (which they should be, it's not like a medium well or rare beyond burger means shit) I think people would knock on them some more. Feels like some bullshit idea marketing came up with to try and convince it's buyers and consumers that this isn't some pussy tier Tofu or Black Bean Burger. Your paying twice or three times as much for a REAL patty!

>> No.12631336

so why does this stuff cost more than normal meat? also what does it taste like raw?

It costs more right now because of two things. One is that it's still more expensive to make them then the majority of ground beef. The food to feed the cow, the water, the space, and biotics and medicine, the processing, all of that turns a cow into steaks, glue, leather, animal feed; and pretty much makes it more cost efficient than just making plant-based patties (which will likely NEVER replicate a steak). The second is that since it costs more and is a niche market, it's better to sell it to people in a limited market who typically have more money to spend like most vegetarians and nearly all vegans. They won't have as much of a problem paying 3x the cost of ground beef when they make more than the average Joe who wouldn't pay even $1.00 extra for one on his Whopper.

I'm against these fucking things because of this push to get people to eat it. Aside from next to no cholesterol (which isn't bad for you in moderation) these things aren't much less "un-healthy" than a regular beef patty. So why the push? Because it's becoming easier and easier to get a taste similar to meat, and becoming easier and easier to modify. "Plant-Based Patties" right now mean mostly pea protein isolate. In five or ten years? Soy, potatoes, corn, and of course canola oil, canola oil, and canola oil.

Whenever the big fast food conglomerates get behind a trend, you can bet your ass it's because the only thing they care about with you is your wallet.

Their goal actually is to make it cheaper than meat so meatcucks dont have an excuse anymore.

Possible. Energy Drinks kill natural testosterone. Meat generates testosterone. Between TV, games, and high estrogen foods it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

just because they make it cheaper doesnt mean i would still eat a beyond burger. I would still eat ground beef because ive just been used to it for so long. I dont care if the flavor is "similar" it is never the same. Dont forget nutritional information aswell

My main issue with these things is that they claim its healthier and while thats technically true i have privately messaged each of these companies (beyond and impossible) about the oxalate contents of their stuff. Both said they didnt look into it for now but "thanks letting us know" or whatever im paraphrasing.
Whats oxalates? Basicly its a thing mostly found in a lot of plants with the plant containing the most oxalates being soy. There's nothing wrong with that except for the fact that of all the things that can cause a kidney stone (proteins, sodium, etc) OXALATES ARE THE WORST in that regards. They can cause MASSIVE kidney stones if you eat too much oxalates and this is why i am not a fan of using soy as this miracle replacement. And they are NOT addressing this in the slightest.

Reminder these things have like 3-4 month expiration dates and nobody ever buys those disgusting things. They will just sit there on the shelf festering for weeks and weeks until some retard like OP lowers himself to the point he is willing to eat that garbage. Then the others get thrown out for the cycle to begin again.

I’ve unironically started eating beef again to support the meat industry and do my bit to stop the bug eating agenda.
