What is the general consensus on fish burgers?

That's not a fucking burger. That's a fish sandwich. They're good.

It's on a burger bun so it's a burger.
Fucking Australians.

That's not a burger bun, it's just a bun.

is this because americans refer to ground meat as "humburger". we tend to consider the whole thing a burger regardless of what the meat is. The meat in a beef burger is the patty.

You can't put a turd between a hamburger bun and call it a hamburger. That said, fish sandwiches are good. They're just not hamburgers.

For me, it's the fish taco.

Checked. Why don't fast food chains offer fish fingers?

That would be a turdburger.

nobody ITT mentioned hamburgers, we were talking about generic "burgers". Hamburger always refers to a beef patty. "Chicken burger" or "fish burger" is just the same thing with a different meat. If somebody said "chicken sandwich" I'd think of chicken between two slices of bread, like in the picture >>12626975

Hamburger is ground meat. You can make a chicken burger with ground chicken.

I love them.
Gotta be breaded fish though.
With tartare sauce.
Infact I think I might make one later...

"hamburger" is the name of the dish. Meat, bun, sauce, etc. If you went to a store and asked for a hamburger, would you be upset if they gave you ground meat in a box? I know that americans have the term "ground beef" so why do they insist on making it confusing by using the same word for one component and the whole dish? It'd be like refering to the ground meat in chilli as chilli and anything else that uses ground beef as chilli as well
