I miss government cheese so much.
My grandparents got blocks of it along with gallon cans of peanut butter.
And my grand folks were fairly well to do,
There was just so much for the taking.
& it was good, fantastic for grilled cheese, mac n'cheese, cheese burgers, cheese steaks, etc.
The PB wasn't as good but it was a unique blend that required a little elbow grease to get the separated oil back in.
It's sad that the US hasn't put the subsidized dairy, soy, etc. and gave it out.
I'm down to try some government tofu.

Deluxe American Kraft is what Five Guys uses and the Great Value alternative tastes exactly the same. I've never come across an American cheese as good as In-N-Out Burger's custom recipe, but then again, I don't care enough about American cheese to look.
