Educate me about Jew food. What are the best dishes/recipes/etc.?

the greatest contribution they have is their use of schmaltz, and maybe pastrami. knishes can be good, everyone likes bagels

bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers and onions
chopped chicken livers with schmaltz (rendered golden chicken fat)
matzo ball soup or any chicken soup
remember israeli food is jewish adjacent, so felafel and hummus now
pastrami on rye or a reuben
hamentasshen, esp. poppy seed and prune (a triangular cookie)
the ritual foods are horrible, but you really should attend a seder at least once in your life. an amazing ritual. remember to leave a glass of wine for Elijah.
smoked whitefish (eastern european food really, but brought to use mostly by the jews)

dont bother with gefiltefish. its peasant food, fish mashed with matzo. lots of jewish food is peasant comfort food, like filipino foods. worthless unless you grew up with it.
dont even bother tasting manishevitz wine, concord grapes do NOT make good wine.
matzo crackers are boring, but worth trying for knowing.

It’s pretty shit. Latkes and challah bread are alright

Oh come on; this stuff is a classic. It's actually popular with lower-income Jews AND Guidos, at least around NYC.
