That pic is from my old job to be fair, hours would run like 10-10 or 4-10 or 8-4 and weird stuff like that.
My new job is in an office 7-5 with an excellent pay grade.

If you have no skills or ambitions; I can understand working shifts like that for terrible pay and struggling.

A solution would be to not live in a city or majorly taxed state, but I can't say much as I live in New York(not the city thankfully).

>> No.12613059

>>12612530
That’s not it, though.

What makes prepcucks cringy as shit is they put all this prior planning and effort into getting something that’s objectively garbage.

Almost no one is too busy to put cheese ham lettuce and tomato between two slices of bread add an apple every morning and call it lunch, or in the evening fry some ground beef onions and garlic in a pan add some tomatoes and call it sauce for a spaghetti dinner.

And if you are too busy to do that shit because you are a jetsetting business executive or something, just do the brave and honest thing. Go to Subway for lunch, takeout Chinese or pizza for dinner or if you’re rich and in NYC or something you probably have gluten free vegan keto cage free low cholesterol or whatever the fuck options everywhere too.

Meal prep just seems so depressing. If you’re going to do something do it right. It’s not that meal prep is objectively worse than say eating instant ramen or chef boyardee all the time, it’s that you put in effort and get garbage.

You lose all practically all the taste half the vitamins and the time it took you to prepare something pretentious. Not to mention there are relatively cheap healthy options even eating out or taking food out.

Also there is no advantage to prepping in advance over eating fresh food that requires essentially no prep, like having muesli fruit and yogurt from breakfast a simple sandwich or ploughmans lunch in the middle of the day and throwing some tomatoes and beef in a pan, boil noodles put in a bowl, add Parmesan.

This. I can buy a 5lb bag of rice that'll last me a few weeks too and just buy pork loin to cook and cut up
First week: $3 of pork tenderloin and $6 bag of rice, gives me 4 pork meals for mon-thurs.
Second week: either quesadillas or sandwiches, quesadillas probably $9 for a week and sandwiches maybe $10-12 depending on what I feel like putting in for variety.
Third week: $3 pork tenderloin and still have a fuckton of rice from the first week

Fridays I either work from home so I'll make something and if not my work has a pantry that puts all items on sale on Friday to clear inventory which is only about $1.50 for a sandwich that's edible. Or the coworkers and I will go out.

My last job I'd spend $7 everyday on fast food until friday where we'd spend maybe $25 on lunch that included alcohol. Eventually I ended up going to del taco and spending $4 for lunch everyday but still pretty unhealthy. Now I'm saving $40 a week so about $160 a month while being healthier

My advice is if you can’t afford to cook fresh, eat snack foods that are meant to last a while AND both tasty and healthful, along with a slice of fresh fruit.

Keep stuff like olives, dried Spanish sausage, hummus, feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes in your fridge, and eat it with a Mediterranean flatbread or pita. Takes virtually no time at all, you don’t even need to make a sandwich, just put it all on a plate and enjoy. You can buy all the other stuff for one week at a time, and just make sure your bread is fresh.

I’m actually even lazier than preppers, cooking even once a week is too much for me to handle. But this way I get to eat with NO cooking at home when I want, and I supplement it with takeout and restaurant meals a few times a week.

Also, they're not richer. The food cost is a bit cheaper because of the STUPID amount of farm lands they have. Then you are making too large batches or not storing it properly. There is not hidden rule which says for 'meal prepping' you have to make ONE dish ONCE a week. Make two meals with two leftovers every 3 days if that keeps the food tasting better.

Meal prepping shows capability to plan ahead, economize time, and ability to cook nutritious tasty meals which keep for a good while and taste great once re-heated (or not at all if they don't need to be heated).

The only brain-dead simpletons are those who look down on 'meal prepping' as the habit of people who lack culinary skills or money as they supposedly 'eat fresh' every day or buy prepackaged lunches/dinners out.

There is literally no excuse for claiming you have no time to eat fresh food instead of leftovers.

No but seriously trolling and kidding aside, the real reason prep tools get so much flak here is because people genuinely get agitated and buttblasted at seeing how people cheat themselves out of eating fresh food that tastes good because of a dumb Reddit/fit crossover meme.

A tasty, healthful, and inexpensive sandwich takes less than 5 minutes to make.

A hot dinner can take a little longer, but ANYONE can stop at a market on the way home from wagecucking, buy one or two fresh vegetables, put them down in the pan with a quickly chopped piece of meat while boiling some pasta or rice and have a delicious fresh hot dinner on the table in less than 30 minutes.

If you don’t have 35 minutes in your day free to cook: there are two possibilities:

you are a madman of the best possible kind incredibly devoted to his specialized craft of one kind of another and is or should be being compensated accordingly (enough to afford top-shelf healthy AND delicious takeout, you know that ridiculously expensive shit you see merchants in New York and Hollywood types being delivered to them made by famous chefs all guaranteed to be nutritionally balances and made from organic free range prime ingredients).

The other possibility is that you are a wagie among wagies being exploited to shit and you need to change your life. And no eating bad leftovers is not that change.

>> No.12626708

>>12626559
Also the only OK occasion to ever eat leftovers is sometimes eating for lunch the very next day what you cooked for dinner the previous night. The day after that is probably gross but vaguely acceptable maybe.

ANYTHING beyond that is cuck-tier.

Look I’m not going to pretend I never have bought frozen food like lasagna from the frozen food section at the supermarket or eaten leftovers from three to five days ago when I had nothing else. None of us are perfect.

But what makes prepcuckery so infuriating is that it’s literally PLANNING to do something lame and second rate. And that being the case, you will always be mocked and derided.

Prepcuck.

Oh and as for the question of why prepcucking deserves to be made fun of more than eating fast food:

People who eat fast food are mostly honest. They’re too lazy to cook, they don’t like healthy shit, or they just love the taste too much to resist. Pizza. Burgers. Chicken. Lots of people love them and can’t stop or won’t stop eating them. It is what it is.

Prepcucks on the other hand think they’re doing something great and praiseworthy. They’re not, it’s gay, lazy, and tastes like shit. So I’m gonna keep making fun of them/you.

Did my math a long time ago. In order to meet my caloric/protein requirement, I only need to spend about approx P600 a week compared to P250 a day eating a decent home cooked meal outside.

The time it takes for me to grill 3 kg of chicken breast and some carbs (including prep and washing) is about 2 hours. Compared to approx 35-45 minutes doing daily portions (again including cleaning and washing).

Vitamins are only (slightly) lost on greens, but I buy those outside cooked anyway.

The problem with /mealprep/ is that it never comes out as good as you expect it to. The food is always tasteless and soft, because faggots try and recreate a fresh meal of seared meat and steamed veggies.
The only type of food that legitimately works for meal prepping is a big heavy sauce dish like a stew or curry with rice stored in a glass container. That's what I do for work lunches. Taste only gets better after a couple days in the fridge and I only make enough for like four meals at a time, so I'm not eating the same shit for two weeks.
