Is eating a couple hard boiled eggs every 8 hrs enough to keep my body from going into calorie saving mode and keep it in fat burning mode? Need to lose 10 lbs in 20 days. Will be exercising too

Avocado doesn't really have that much more fat than the eggs you'd be eating, but you can lose weight while eating fatty food still as long as you're eating at a deficit. But I think the eggs would be better for more protein so you don't end up losing a bit of muscle mass too.

I don't think it's that simple. Nobody really gets fat from eating fruit. Keto works because it forces people to cut out junk food, which is usually made up mostly of refined carbs. Most people are drinking hundreds of calories of carbs through soda every day but that doesn't mean the carbs are inherently bad.

The thing about carbs and storing fat is that carbs cause the strongest insulin response (granted, refined carbs top that due to how quickly they're absorbed) preventing fat from being adapted into energy after consumption. It's all about the numbers involved but in general keto causes you to feel more energetic while on a calorie deficit because the stored energy becomes more readily available.

The whole "cause your body to store fat" thing is a bad way to put it. What a strong insulin response is really doing is making stored energy less available for use to prefer new energy, or in other words you get you more hungry or lethargic for the same amount of energy the larger the proportion of carbohydrates, with some exceptions and funky behaviors at the very high and low ends. You won't actually be using any more or less energy or burning any more or less calories. It just gets harder to do more and eat less.

Really though dieting and stuff is all just a pain in the ass and intermittent fasting is easy as shit once you get used to it. As long as you have a stable and sufficient nutritional intake and your body id well-adjusted to your lifestyle you can pretty much eat whatever you want and not get fat if you're just eating as many calories as you need.
