Bought my first pineapple in 15 years last week, just cut it up last night. Perfectly ripe and sweet but I ate half of it. Not bitter or burny but still got enzyme-tongue. Saved the peels for marinades that enzyme is miracle-tier.

Not like oranges, no. Pineapples are mild shit.
I don't mind them, but no fucking way would I call pineapples an exceptionally enjoyable fruit. And even insofar as I don't mind them it's only because we live in the modern developed world where you can just eat the good part already prepared for you as a component to some meal. The fruit itself in its natural form is one of the most retarded and least appetizing looking things you could imagine, filled with seeds and spiky chunks of fiber no creature on the planet could successfully digest.
