you're conveniently forgetting how cheap cabbage, onions, carrots, potatos, pork, alcohol and cigarettes are, my dude.

nah it's cheap as fuck, you just need to learn how not to be retarded like OP is pretending to be. also stop buying overpriced bentos from 7/11.

>>12605429
yeah I agree with you on the fruit. about the only fruit even reasonably affordable in Japan is mikan tangerines and bananas.
veggies are dirt cheap though most of the time and meat's decently priced too. pork is the cheapest, chicken is cheap as fuck too if you go to stores like Gyoumu Supa and Beef is cheaper than most western countries if you take your time to find good cuts of lean Australian/Tasmanian beef and avoid the marbled meme shit.

When I was on my 150yen diet I was mostly doing a lot of bulk shopping at Gyoumu and making teriyaki stirfry a lot. 800yen for 2kg of smoked chicken, 500yen for 2kg bag of frozen veg, bag of cheap rice and making my own teriyaki sauce from scratch (pretty easy to do, it's just soy sauce with honey and brown sugar in it really.
pasta, instant noodles (20yen a packet) and making soups using miso paste was cost effective too. just throw some potatoes onion carrot and pork into a pot of water with miso paste: quick and easy ton-jiru.
To get drunk every night it's just a matter of buying a 4L carton of locally distilled 25% Shouchu and having it mizuwari.

>>12605437
it's good for Americans and Euros going INTO Japan yea but they always complain about how ""expensive"" everything is.

Yeah I have to agree with the meat. Basically if you are making Japanese food you can live cheap. The cheap super near me (essentially a gyomu supa under a different name) has amazing cuts of steak for a steal besides their usual stuff. Sometimes you can get them half off even.

I totally want to start a Japan daily life cooking thread, actually.

There’s a reason many restaurants in Japan proudly proclaim their use of locally farmed ingredients only, cause loads of the stuff at the grocery store isn’t from Japan.
Although I will say, Japanese fruits taste great.

Yeah, no. There's no way what you're saying is correct. No possible way Japan has comparable food prices on ANYTHING compared to flyover land. It might have something to do with being an island way out in the middle of nowhere and having tiny little twisting streets and alleys.
Standard US grocery distribution method is the best rail freight network on Earth then 53' reefers.

Japanese food sucks, and not only that, it is extremely expensive. You can larp about living in Japan as you defend glorious nippons honor like the piece of shit weeb you are but the facts are out there and they are easy to find and even on this website there have been HUNDREDS of posts that aren't lies like yours about not only how outrageously expensive but also how extremely low quality and ultra processed Japanese food is.

I post here because I like cooking. I am a pretty good chef and not only that I am a gourmet as well, I regularly dine out at all of the best trendiest restaurants I can. I have traveled Europe sampling fine cuisine. I am also a connoisseur of wine beer and whiskey.

Basically I am more qaulified to post on this board than almost all of you.

It is because of my culinary skills and knowledge that I hate Japanese food and hate the fools who blindly praise it because they have allowed their pathetic idiotic selves to be subliminally hypnotized into loving Japan (by all accounts one of the worst countries on the planet. Look it up, so much wrong with the country. I am friends with economists, anthropologists, diplomats and such, any such person hates Japan and knows the objective faults.)

Fuck, I'd even rather use Reddit if that was my priority. /ck/ is at best a sub-interest for people who come from larger boards, usually from either /pol/ (like you and all the other newfags complaining about weebshit and infesting the entire goddamn site), /fit/, or the weeb boards.
