which should I get for cooking?

>> No.12602950

Go to Ikea, buy Ikea Glass cookware.
Glass baking dishes sold in the USA are usually tempered glass rather than borisilicate glass.
Tempered glass can shatter into thousands of small pieces if it breaks, which isn’t really safe in a kitchen or with a really hot pan.
Borisilicate glass is more thermally shock resistant, and tends to break into larger shards if it breaks.
Also, a chipped borosilicate dish will usually still be usable.
European regulation forbid the use of tempered soda ash glass for bakeware, so the bakeware is usually borosilicate hlass if made by European companies like IKEA.
If you just need bakeware for a few uses though, the Pyrex Anchor stuff is probably fine, and usually cheap.

Buy metal or ceramic like regular people do.
Glass is an explosion waiting to happen.

Do you see any glass there?
No. It's all metal. So just cook in metal.

Ikea sells Chinese crap. Do not buy glasswear from Ikea it will explode in a million pieces if you use it. Buy anchor or Pyrex
