I tried the impossible burger for the meme value a month ago. The patties are frozen and tiny, and get smaller when thawed.
They're too small to use regular buns. Already a deal breaker. When I cooked it over the grill, it didn't change color in any way that indicated wether it was finished or not. I properly seasoned, and dressed it how I usually make my burgers, salt, pepper, buttered toasted buns, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, Caramelized onions, pickles, jalapeño peppers, ketchup, mustard. I took a bite and it tasted like the rotten beef equivalent to chicken mcnuggets. I could do 2 bites. The dog was even hesitant to try the other patty. This will not catch on.
